A Reader Shares: Graphing Calculator Tutorial INB Page

Can I just say that y'all continue to amaze me?  Thanks so much for the sweet notes and e-mail thank you notes of late!  This blog has reached more people than I ever imagined possible.  When I first started blogging, I would get incredibly excited if my blog had 100 pageviews a week.  I've now reached 1.3 million pageviews which is simply mind-blowing.  I still can't really believe it.

I have had numerous readers share pictures/activities/ideas with me via e-mail.  I've decided that it's time to start sharing this information with you instead of hoarding it for myself.

These pictures are from Emily Smith, a first year teacher from Mississippi.  She and her coworkers have been creating interactive notebooks this year with their Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 students.

She had the brilliant idea of creating graphing calculator tutorial pages in her interactive notebook!

I am in love with the idea of gluing in a picture of the graphing calculator and coloring the buttons that are used to complete a certain task.  Did you notice that the color on the buttons and the color in the notes coordinate?  Now, that's CWP - Color With A Purpose!

I am DEFINITELY stealing this idea for next year!  I get so tired of having to re-explain the steps to doing certain tasks on the graphing calculator.  I'm excited that I will be able to direct students to their notebooks when they have a question!

Emily also shared a picture of her beautiful notebook cover!  For the past two years, I've simply written my name on the cover of my composition notebook with a Sharpie.  No more!  Next year, I'm going to start off the year with a customized notebook cover!

This school year isn't even over, and my to-do list for this summer is already growing by leaps and bounds!

Do you have something you'd like to share with my readers?  Send me an e-mail!  Of course, I'd really recommend starting your own blog!  (Send me a link so I can follow you!)  If you're not quite up to starting you own blog just yet, I'd love to share your creations with the world!
